Honeycomb Shades

Honeycomb shades (sometimes called cellular shades) are a type of window treatment that uses layers of fabric to create honeycomb-shaped pockets. These pockets provide insulation, helping to regulate the temperature inside a room by trapping air and preventing heat loss in the winter and heat gain in the summer.

They are available in sheer (see-through), semi-sheer, light-filtering, and room-darkening materials.

They are available in single-cell, double-cell, and triple-cell options. The most insulating of these options is the triple-cell. However, there are more fabrics and more colors to choose from with the single-cell honeycomb.

Although they do offer some sound-absorbing qualities, they are not designed to be used as a noise-canceling product.

Cellular shades are one of the easier shade products to operate. They are available with standard lift systems, cordless lift systems, and motorized lift systems.

With the exception of interior shutters, honeycomb shades are one of the only window coverings that can be made to fit into specialty-shaped windows such as arches, trapezoids, and triangles.

Honeycomb shades are popular for their energy efficiency, light-filtering or room-darkening capabilities, and sleek appearance.
